Skill Builders was founded in 2006 from the community need for social skills training for children who experience social skill deficits, yet have no where to get support. Today, we have supported over 300 children from Preschool to High School. As the need continues to grow, we continue to provide a continuum of programs and services for most children.

Betty Blaney, M.A., Ed.S
Founder, Director & Program Facilitator. Betty has over 16 years of experience in the fields of Special Education, Autism and related disorders, ADD/ADHD and a variety of developmental disabilities. Betty has a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Human Development from CSU at Hayward, and Master's Degrees in School Psychology and Education from Chapman University. Betty's experience includes: District School Psychologist, School based Child and Adolescent Counseling, Behavior Intervention Specialist, Sustance Abuse Counseling, Social Skills Training, Play Therapy, and Parenting (a typical child and a child with PDD-NOS).
